Description

PUD for textile foil hot stamping paste

Foil stamping paste introduction

With the continuous advancement of industrial technology and the diversification of market demand, hot stamping paste is increasingly used in various high-end packaging and decorative materials. In order to meet the special requirements of different fields, the composition and performance of hot foil stamping paste are also constantly upgraded and optimized. Among them, hot stamping paste based on water-based polyurethane resin has gradually become the mainstream product in the market due to its superior properties such as high elasticity, antifreeze, water resistance and high solid content.

The unique formula of hot stamping paste resin enables it to show excellent stability and durability in the application of hot stamping, flocking paste and transfer glue in the fields of footwear, clothing, etc. In particular, its soft film-forming characteristics can maintain excellent adhesion and elasticity on various materials, and the hot foil stamping effect is not easy to crack or fall off even when the material is bent or stretched.

In addition, hot stamping paste resin also has excellent antifreeze properties. In low temperature environments, this hot stamping paste still maintains good fluidity and construction performance, is not easy to freeze or delaminate, and ensures the stability and consistency of the product in different environments. This feature is particularly suitable for production applications in cold areas, and can exert its superior performance in a wide temperature range.

Washability is also a highlight, especially in products that need frequent washing, such as clothing and home textiles. After multiple washes, the gloss and integrity of the hot stamping layer can still be maintained without discoloration or peeling, ensuring the long-term durability of the product.

How to use hot foil stamping paste

Hot stamping paste is a special paste used for hot stamping of materials such as textiles and paper. It transfers metal foil to the target material through hot pressing to form a bright pattern. The following are detailed instructions and precautions:

1. Material preparation

Hot stamping paste: Select hot stamping paste suitable for the target material (such as textile-specific or paper-specific).

Hot stamping foil: Use special foil paper that matches the material (such as hot stamping foil for cloth).

Tools: Screen (80-120 mesh, adjusted according to pattern requirements), scraper, heat press or heat press.

2. ‌Operation steps‌

‌Paste coating‌:

Use a screen to evenly scrape the hot stamping paste on the target material. Usually, it is necessary to scrape 2-3 times, 2-3 times each time, to ensure that the thickness of the paste is moderate (too thin will not be obvious, too thick will be uneven).

You can add colors (such as hot stamping foil plus golden yellow) to cover printing defects.

‌Drying‌:

Naturally dry until the surface is sticky but not sticky (usually takes 3-6 hours, and longer in a humid environment).

‌Hot press transfer‌:

Cover the hot stamping foil on the dry paste and use a hot press to press for 10-15 seconds at 130-160℃ (the temperature and time are adjusted according to the paste and material).

‌Key points‌: The pressure must be uniform, and the foil must be torn off after cooling to avoid operating when it is not dry and causing incomplete tearing of the paper.

3. ‌Precautions‌

‌Temperature and time control‌: Too high a temperature or too long a time may damage the material, and it needs to be adjusted according to the paste instructions.

‌Material adaptability‌: Thick fabrics require increased pressure, and different materials such as nylon and cotton may require adjustment of the paste type.

‌Fastness enhancement‌: For textiles, the fabric can be turned over and pressed twice (8-10 seconds) to improve washing fastness.

4. ‌Common problem solving‌ ‌Paper tearing is not clean‌: The paste is not completely dry or the pressing time is insufficient.

‌Uneven effect‌: Uneven paste thickness or improper selection of screen mesh.

‌Summary‌: The use of hot stamping paste requires strict control of the three links of paste coating, drying, and hot pressing, and adapts to the material characteristics. It is recommended to test the parameters on a small sample before the first operation.
