Shoe material printing mainly refers to the printing of upper materials, and some are the printing of base materials. This article mainly discusses the printing of upper materials.
Classification of upper materials and main points of printing
There are many types of upper materials, mainly fiber materials and leather materials.
1. Fiber materials
Among fiber materials, there are mainly natural fiber materials and artificial synthetic fiber materials. Among upper materials, woven fabrics are the main ones, and some knitted materials are also used, which is very different from clothing printing.
In the printing of upper fiber materials, the characteristics of general printing materials should be referred to. In addition to meeting the requirements of general printing materials, special attention should be paid to the following matters.
1) Scratch resistance and wear resistance
Upper printing requires better film formation on the printing surface, especially requiring good adhesion between the printing material and the base material, and not easy to be scratched by sharp objects.
2) Bending resistance and flexibility
Shoe materials are required to have good bending resistance and flexibility, so the printing materials are required to have good toughness, be resistant to bending and not easy to break.
3) Anti-sulfurization, yellowing resistance, and aging resistance
Some shoes with rubber need to undergo a vulcanization process during the production process, so the printing materials are required not to yellow or age under the vulcanization process conditions.
4) Anti-freeze, cold resistance, and low-temperature folding resistance
Some shoe materials (especially high-end shoe materials) are required to have good anti-freeze and folding resistance under low temperature (-20~30) °C conditions, so the printing materials are also required to have anti-freeze, cold resistance, and low-temperature folding resistance.
5) Surface anti-pollution
The surface of the shoe material must be anti-pollution, so the printing part is required to have good flatness and anti-stickiness, which can reduce the contamination of the shoe surface under normal circumstances.
6) Acid and alkali resistance
Some shoe surfaces require good acid and alkali resistance, so the printing materials are also required to have good acid and alkali resistance.
2. Leather materials
In modern footwear, a large number of various genuine leathers, imitation leathers, composite materials, and coating materials are used as upper materials. In the past, oily solvent-based printing materials were mainly used in the printing of these leather shoes. With the increasing environmental protection requirements, the requirements for water-based materials (especially water-based polyurethane) are further expanded. Water-based materials should solve the printing problems of leather materials, and the following points should be paid attention to.
1) Adhesion
Traditional water-based printing materials are more used in the field of clothing, while the main point of attention for the printing of fiber materials, especially leather materials, is the adhesion of the printing materials.
2) Targetedness
Due to the different materials of leather materials, the adaptability to different printing materials is also different. Therefore, when printing, it is necessary to confirm the material of the printing substrate, and then select the appropriate printing material for printing. Generally speaking, there are genuine leather and imitation leather. For printing on genuine leather, attention should be paid to the treatment of the original genuine leather substrate. Imitation leather has materials such as PVC and PU, and also coated substrates.
3) Use of auxiliaries
Generally speaking, for printing on leather substrates, a certain amount of suitable auxiliaries needs to be added when using water-based printing materials. Generally, the amount used is 0.5%~3%.
4) Pay attention to the temperature and method of heating
In the printing process of leather substrates, try to use the curing method of room temperature cross-linking as much as possible to reduce heating cross-linking. In special cases, pay attention to the impact of temperature and heating method on the substrate.
Introduce several main shoe printing materials
1. Thick density paste for shoe materials
Thick board pulp for shoe materials is mainly used for printing on various fiber fabrics and leather fabrics. The main features are good adhesion, folding resistance, cold resistance, low temperature folding resistance, acid and alkali resistance, and vulcanization resistance. High-end ones are mainly polyurethane, and medium and low-end ones use acrylic polymers or a combination of the two.
2. Water-based three-dimensional gold oil
The main properties of water-based three-dimensional gold oil are good thickness, excellent flexibility, scratch resistance, cold resistance, acid and alkali resistance, yellowing resistance, good adhesion, and are widely used for printing on fiber materials and leather materials.
3. Water-based foaming slurry
Water-based foaming slurry solves the problems of traditional foaming slurry printing from the two aspects of elasticity and fastness. It can achieve high fastness, scratch resistance, acid and alkali resistance, cold resistance, bending resistance and other effects on shoe materials, and it has the characteristics of suede imitation leather effect.
4. Water-based bright silicone
Water-based bright silicone has very good gloss and extremely high flexibility. The part after covering has the effect of silicone. It can be used with various water-based printing materials and used on various shoe materials.
5. Water-based ink
Water-based ink has a complete variety, bright colors, good cold resistance, acid and alkali resistance, bending resistance, yellowing resistance, aging resistance and other characteristics, and is widely used for coloring effects of various shoe materials.
In short, shoe printing is much more complicated than general clothing printing. Before printing, the substrate must be analyzed, studied, and sampled. According to the practical characteristics of the footwear products and the properties of the materials, the appropriate printing material process and the appropriate polyurethane or acrylic resin should be selected.
